Kamoa copper mine
In October 2016, Zijin Mining newly discovered 9.4 million tons of copper resources in the Kakula section of the Kamoa Copper Project in Congo (Gold). This discovery has enabled the copper mine's overall resource reserves to reach 33.4 million tons, equivalent to one-third of China's current copper reserves, and the mine has thus become the largest copper mine ever discovered in the African continent.
In recent days, the Kamoa copper mine has made major breakthroughs in prospecting and exploration in the Kakuraksi exploration area. According to relevant responsible officials, half of the area of the Kamoa-Kakula project with a total area of 400 square kilometers has not yet been verified. Once verified, the Kamoa Copper Mine will soon be among the top three copper mines in the world.
